LYNWOOD, Calif. – Today, teacher, survivor
Titled, “Royal Titles,” Vasquez-Wilson explains that she’s running because she doesn’t believe that elected positions should be handed down like royal titles but earned from the trust of the voters.
Vasquez-Wilson is currently elected to the Central Basin Municipal Water District board of directors representing its fourth district. In 2005, Vasquez-Wilson made history Lynwood’s first Latina mayor. During her tenure, she led an aggressive lobbying effort that brought in millions of dollars for new parks, schools, housing, shopping centers, streets, and a new state-of-the-art senior citizen center.
The election is March 26, 2019.
